The name we chose for the café and confectionary is rather special, as the Mandara, also known as the cockspur coral tree, with its flamboyant flowers is not native to Hungary. This flamboyance and varied vividness is what we would like to convey in the confectionary and café of Mala Garden Hotel, Mandara Café & Lounge.
In the summer peak season (June, July, August) we also offer bistro type food for our guests besides the usual cakes.
The cakes created by our confectionary chef are prepared from raw materials appropriate for the given season, making sure that only the best ingredients are used for the cakes; for example we only use Belgian chocolate for preparing our desserts free of flavouring and colouring.
Some of our cakes are of home-made style, but quality plays a major role in our kitchen to ensure that the desserts on our guests’ tables are ever more sophisticated. We are prepared to meet special demands, thus you can find on our daily menu sweets free of sugar, gluten and lactose as well, which are sweetened by dates, so everyone has a chance to fall into temptation in our confectionary.
Mandara Café & Lounge has also something to offer if you are just thirsty: home-made syrups, Hungarian craft beer specialties, exclusive premium quality drinks and coffee specialties are awaiting our guests.
There is nothing better than having a subtle, sensual espresso or a glass of merlot sitting around, admiring the beautiful panorama of Lake Balaton, may it be any season of the year.
